Sigma DP1x boasts a 14 MP APS-C FOVEON X3 direct image sensor uses three silicon embedded layers of photo sensors, captures all the color, and doesn't miss a thing. The wide-angle 16.6mm (equivalent to 28mm on a 35mm camera) lens brings perspective into play, the f/4 wide aperture allows users to get better shots in low light.

The DP1x features the True II image processor for fast and high quality image processing. The AF algorithm provides for faster auto focus and the Power Save Mode lowers the battery consumption allowing for a greater number of photos to be taken with a single battery charge.

Sigma DP1s features a 14 MP APS-C sized (2652×1768×3 layers) FOVEON X3 direct image sensor, which is penetrated to different depths by different wavelengths of light, this direct image sensor succeeds in full-color capture with the full RGB in a single-pixel location. Just like film, each photodiode captures all the RGB data, so no final-stage demosaicing is required.

The DP1s is equipped with a 16.6mm (35mm equivalent focal length is 28mm) F/4 lens, the large-diameter of aspherical glass provides low distortion and high contrast images. It also offers superior peripheral brightness. The super multi-layer coating reduces flare and ghosting. It allows photographers to take pictures in difficult light conditions.

Sigma DP1 Merrill (DP1m) is a high-end compact camera incorporates a APS-C sized 46 MP full-color Foveon X3 Direct Image Sensor, it captures all primary RGB colors at each and every pixel location with 3 layers, ensuring the capture of full and complete color. Since color moiré is not generated, the use of a low-pass filter is not required, meaning light and color are captured by the full-color X3 Merrill sensor with a three-dimensional feel.

This lightweight DP1 Merrill equipped with a wide-angle 28mm equivalent F/2.8 high-performance fixed lens, the superior telecentric optical design improves image quality throughout the frame by passing on information about subjects to the sensor.
